A 43-year-old south suburban man died after being pinned under a car at a South Holland tire shop Wednesday morning.

Francisco Lopez was trapped under the car at the shop at 16971 Vincennes Road in South Holland, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lopez was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where he died at 9:40 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 18100 block of Donatus Drive in Lansing.

An autopsy Thursday found Lopez died of asphyxia and chest trauma, and his death was ruled an accident.

South Holland police declined to provide information. At least two auto repair and tire shops are listed at the Vincennes address, and neither could be reached for comment Thursday evening.
