A man tried to sexually assault a 35-year-old woman in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest side Thursday morning, police said.

At 10:12 a.m., the man forced her a dark blue SUV in the 5000 block of South Kostner Avenue, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

She fought the man off and ran away, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10, heavyset Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old with short black hair and a dark complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt and no pants.

Police advise residents to walk in pairs and report any suspicious activity.
