Police are warning residents about a series of garage burglaries reported this month in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

In each of the break-ins, someone has entered garages and taken property in the area between Harlem to Cumberland avenues bordered by Irving Park Road and Belmont Avenue, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The burglaries occurred:

  • 3400 block of North Overhill Avenue between noon Sept. 1 and 10 a.m. Sept. 2;
  • 3900 block of North Pittsburgh Avenue between 11:45 p.m. Sept. 15 and 5:20 a.m. Sept. 16;
  • 3500 block of North Pioneer Avenue between 10 p.m. Sept. 16 and 9:15 a.m. Sept. 17; and
  • 3300 block of North Oconto Avenue between 11 p.m. Sept. 16 and 6 a.m. Sept. 17.
