In a battle between rivals, the Waubonsie Valley Warriors will face off against the Metea Valley Mustangs Friday night.

Some might even call it more grand than when Homewood Flossmoor faced Stevenson in the 2014 State Finals, in which the Patriots took it 35-28.

Such an event deserves an even grander stadium, which is why the big game will be held at North Central College Stadium in Naperville.

Don’t let Metea’s record (1-3) fool you, as the Mustangs are more than capable of battling the Warriors.

If we look back, each of their previous games were extremely close (vs Wheaton North 14-7, vs Naperville Central 29-28). You can, and should count on this game being just as close.

Waubonsie, on the other hand, is riding a comeback-win against Naperville Central in which Max Ihry barraged for two late touchdowns in the 4th to edge the Red Hawks (15-14). Keep those live-streams on and don’t miss out on what is sure to be one hell of a game.

Rivalries have never felt so good.
