Bank robbed in Elgin

Someone robbed a bank Friday afternoon in northwest suburban Elgin.

The suspect entered the Chase Bank branch at 500 N. Shady Oaks Dr. in Elgin at 1:15 p.m., according to a statement from Elgin police. The suspect demanded cash and left the bank on foot.

No employees or customers who were inside the bank at the time were injured, police said.

The Elgin Police Department is working with the FBI to investigate the heist. Further details were not immediately available.
