Work on the Chicago Riverwalk that was expected to close the Wells Street Bridge this weekend has been postponed.

The project, which was going to close the bridge to all motorized, bicycle and pedestrian traffic, will be rescheduled for a later date, according to a statement from the Chicago Department of Transportation. No specific date has been set.

The next phase of the Riverwalk work will extend it from LaSalle, under the Wells and Franklin street bridges to Lake Street, according to CDOT.
