A man questioned by detectives in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man Tuesday on the Southwest Side has been released.

The 28-year-old man had been questioned in the death of Alexander Velazquez but wasn’t charged, according to the police.

Velazquez died three days after being shot in the 5800 block of South Pulaski. He was standing on a corner, shouted gang slogans at a passing vehicle and threw a can at it, according to the police, and then was shot in the head by someone inside.
