A man was shot in the Armour Square neighborhood on the South Side Saturday evening.

A 25-year-old man was outside in the 3700 block of South Wells Street at 6:47 p.m. when a person approached the man and shot him, police said.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and the scrotum, and was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in good condition. He was later transported to Stroger Hospital, police said.

The man is a documented gang member.

Police originally reported that the shooting took place at 3700 block of South Princeton Avenue.
