A man who was killed in a shooting early Wednesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood has been identified.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot at 12:20 a.m. in the 2700 West Lexington found 25-year-old Troy Burtin unresponsive on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the head, chest and groin, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Burtin, of the 2800 block of West Polk, was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later, authorities said.

A police source said he was a documented gang member.
