A 15-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded Sunday night in the University Village neighborhood.

About 9:20 p.m., the boy was standing outside in the 1300 block of South Racine when someone fired shots, striking him in the shoulder and neck area, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
