Four people were wounded in a shooting early Tuesday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

They were sitting on a back porch near 56th and Green at 2:54 a.m. when someone entered the backyard and began firing at them, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

A 34-year-old man who was shot in the chest and a 40-year-old woman who was shot in the head were both taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Gaines said. A 19-year-old woman was shot in the foot and was also taken to Stroger in serious condition.

A 22-year-old man who was shot in the arm was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in serious condition, Gaines said.

The victims were sitting in a parked car in the 4100 block of West Taylor Street when they were shot, police said.

The men were in the 600 block of West Barry Avenue, police said. Two were in good condition and one was in serious condition.
The 26-year-old man was shot in the back while leaving a gas station in the 500 block of East 67th Street, police said.
