SHARE Agent says ‘it’s been difficult’ on Patrick Kane: report

Patrick Kane’s agent professed his innocence and said the investigation has “been difficult” on the Blackhawks star, in an interview with ESPN.

Pat Brisson told ESPN:

He’s always been honest with me. I’ve known him for a long time. I’ve been doing this a long time as a sports agent. You get to know people and get to know the character of an individual. Spending more time with Patrick over this situation, I do believe he is innocent.

The grand jury proceedings for the Kane investigation were postponed on Tuesday. The Buffalo News reported that sources indicated a settlement could be in the works but a Chicago Sun-Times source would not confirm that.

A source told the Associated Press the grand jury hearings were postponed for two weeks for unspecified reasons.

From AP:

Evidence was scheduled to be presented to jurors on Tuesday but the hearings were postponed for about two weeks, the person said. The person did not provide a reason for the postponement, and spoke only on condition of anonymity because District Attorney Frank Sedita and Hamburg police have not revealed any details of the case since announcing they had launched an investigation last month. Sedita did not respond to a request seeking comment.

Brisson was unsure if Kane would be there for the opening of Blackhawks camp on Sept. 18. Brisson told ESPN the investigation is weighing on Kane:

It’s been difficult to say the least. Basically when you spend more time in your house than outside and you can’t really go to the rink like you have your normal life. It’s been difficult. It’s been hard. At the same time, I know he’s looking forward to this being over with.
