SHARE Woman killed in New Year’s Day crash on Dan Ryan

A woman who was killed in a crash that also left another person injured early on New Year’s Day on the Dan Ryan Expressway has been identified.

Their vehicle hit a wall on the inbound local lanes of the Dan Ryan (I-90/94) near 63rd Street about 1:20 a.m. Friday, according to Illinois State Police.

Antoinette Latrite Snyder, 35, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 2:13 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Snyder, of the 8800 block of South Laflin, died of multiple blunt force injuries in the crash and her death was ruled an accident.

The male was transported to an area hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. His age was not immediately available.

All lanes reopened after the crash by 5:30 a.m.

Police said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
