SHARE Police: 3 carjackings last week on West Side

Chicago Police are warning West Side residents after three vehicles were hijacked in one morning last week in the Humboldt Park and West Garfield Park neighborhoods.

The carjackings all happened Dec. 26, about 5 a.m. in the 4600 block of West Van Buren, 6 a.m. in the 900 block of North Ridgeway and 9:30 a.m. in the 900 block of North Hamlin, according to a community alert from 11th District police.

They each were carried out by two men who showed handguns in two of the incidents and knives in the third, the alert said.

Police don’t have a detailed description of any possible suspects. Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
