12-year-old West Elsdon girl missing since New Year’s Day found safe

A 12-year-old girl missing for three weeks from her West Elsdon neighborhood home on the Southwest Side has been found safe, according to police.

Stephany Portes of the 3800 block of West 55th Place was last seen New Year’s Day, according to a missing person alert issued Friday afternoon.

On Friday afternoon, police said she has been “safely located.”
