Chicago Police are cautioning West Side residents after a series of armed robberies last month in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

Three people with handguns carried out a pair of robberies about 11:35 a.m. Dec. 11 in the 3900 block of West Van Buren and about 11 a.m. Dec. 18 in the 3900 block of West Flournoy, according to a community alert issued Friday by 11th District police.

The group, which included a male with dreadlocks and a female with a ponytail, took off in a black two-door car after one of those incidents, police said.

In a separate alert, police warned of another group of three men suspected in two more robberies, which happened about 12:45 a.m. Dec. 16 in the 400 block of South Kostner and 5:30 p.m. Dec. 23 in the 3600 block of West Washington.

The men, one of whom had an afro, each had a gun, and they fled in a white car, police said.

Police do not have detailed descriptions of any possible suspects. Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
