Chicago Police are searching for a man who exposed himself to an 8-year-old girl last week in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 8-year-old girl was walking into an apartment building in the 5000 block of West North Avenue about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man followed her into the building’s vestibule, according to a community alert from police.

The man started asking the girl about an envelope, and as the girl approached him to see the envelope, he exposed himself, police said. He ran away eastbound.

The suspect is described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6-foot with a thin build, medium to light brown hair, blue eyes and a beard, police said. He was wearing a black skull cap, black coat and tan pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Special Investigations Unit at (312) 492-3810.
