A man was shot early Tuesday at a gas station in west suburban Oak Park.

The shooting happened at a station in the 500 block of South Austin Boulevard at 5:10 a.m., according to David Powers, communications director for the Village of Oak Park.

An 18-year-old man was shot once in the upper thigh and driven by friends to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Powers said.

The victim was in good condition and was being evaluated before either being released or transferred to Stroger Hospital, police said.
