Kids of all ages undoubtedly will be flocking to Navy Pier next weekend as that lovable, furry red Muppet Elmo is joined by a bunch of his Sesame Street pals.

It’s all about an “Elmo and Friends” event hosted by “Sesame Street” and HBO to promote the long-running children’s program’s upcoming debut on the cable network.

There will be two performances Sunday, Jan. 24 at the Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier, 700 E. Grand. They will take place at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and seating is available on a first come, first served basis.

Kids will be encouraged to join “Sesame Street’s” new “Everyday Heroes Club,” which a child may join merely by exhibiting an act of kindness, according to the HBO folks.
