One down, 30 to go. That’s how many more 50-point, regular-season games Jimmy Butler needs to catch Michael Jordan. (We won’t even talk about the eight 50-plus playoff performances.)

Still, when Butler scored 53 points Thursday in a 115-111 overtime victory over the 76ers, he joined an elite Bulls’ club whose membership now stands at four.

He also accomplished something that neither Scottie Pippen nor Kevin Garnett ever did, and etched his name next to Kobe and MJ’s in overall performances since 1985.
