A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg Friday evening in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The teen was walking on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of South Springfield at 7:25 p.m. when a black Chevrolet Impala pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
