A woman was shot while riding in a party bus early Sunday in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 2:45 a.m., the 39-year-old was on a party bus in the 7600 block of South Cottage Grove when a male opened fire from a vehicle nearby, according to Chicago Police.

The shooter had been involved in an earlier argument with several males on the bus, police said.

The woman was shot in the left thigh and was driven to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
