A man found dead along with an 18-year-old woman more than a week ago in a Northwest Side apartment has been identified.

Officers responding to a call for a well-being check at 7:36 p.m. Jan. 17 in the apartment in the 3400 block of North Pulaski Road found 18-year-old Thalia Tellez and 50-year-old John Gibbs unresponsive inside, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Gibbs, who lived on the same block; and Tellez, of the 3700 block of North Spaulding, were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Autopsies were inconclusive and did not rule on either Gibbs’ or Tellez’s cause or manner of death, with results pending further investigation.

Area North detectives are conducting a death investigation.
