Chicago Police are warning residents of armed robberies in the Near West Side neighborhood.

At least three armed robberies have been reported in the neighborhood since Tuesday, according to a community alert from police.

The robberies happened:

  • at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the 2300 block of West Monroe Street;
  • at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the 200 block of South Western Avenue;
  • and at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in the 2100 block of West Maypole Avenue.

In each incident, two to three robbers approach people on the street, display a handgun and then take their personal property or vehicle, police said.

The robbers are described as two to three black men, 20-30 years of age and weighing 150-190 pounds, police said.
