A 16-year-old boy was shot while traveling in a minivan in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side Wednesday night.

The teen was a passenger in a minivan in the 3000 block of West 42nd Street about 9:25 p.m. when a gray sedan pulled behind them and someone inside opened fire, police said.

The teen suffered a graze wound to the back of the head and refused medical attention, police said.
