This is how rumors get started.

For months, everyone was wondering about the whereabouts of Steve Kerr. The Golden State Warriors coach was fresh off an NBA Championship but couldn’t be found anywhere near the team’s bench. Turns out, Kerr was battling some residual problems from back surgery.

Not until recently has Kerr felt well enough to travel. The former Bulls guard made the trip with his team for the three-game swing through the Midwest, including Wednesday’s finale vs. the Bulls.

But before taking care of business at the United Center, Kerr decided to have some fun with his staff on Tuesday at The Second City. Kerr even got into the act.

The game plan worked. The Warriors won a 125-94 laugher over the Bulls and raised their record to 39-4.
