Red Line trains resume service after worker injured on tracks

Red Line trains have resumed normal service after a CTA worker was injured on the tracks Wednesday afternoon on the North Side.

The worker fell from a ladder in a tunnel and was injured on the tracks near the North/Clybourn station, according to the CTA and Fire Media Affairs.

The worker was taken in fair-to-serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Fire Media. His injuries were not life-threatening.

He was not struck by a train and did not make contact with the third rail, authorities said.

95th-bound Red Line trains were temporarily rerouted to the elevated tracks, but have since resumed normal service, according to the transit agency.
