Police warn of robberies in West Town

Chicago Police are warning residents of a series of robberies in the West Town neighborhood.

At least three robberies have been reported in the neighborhood since Jan. 16, according to a community alert from police.

The robberies happened:

  • at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 in the 400 block of North Green Street;
  • at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 16 in the 600 block of North Peoria Street;
  • and 9 p.m. Jan. 16 in the 400 block of North Green.

In each robbery, two to three males approach people on the street and steal personal property, police said.

The robbers are described as black males 18-20, weighing 150-170 pounds, police said. They may be driving an older model SUV.
