A Gary man, who is still on the loose, was charged Friday with robbing a man at gunpoint in December in northwest Indiana.

Keonte Dean, 22, was charged with armed robbery, three counts of criminal confinement, battery by means of a deadly weapon and intimidation, according to a statement from Gary Police Department.

After robbing a male Dec. 8 in the 1100 block of East 11th Avenue, Dean forced the male’s girlfriend and 3-year-old daughter to lay on the ground at gunpoint, police said.

Anyone with information on Dean’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Violent Crimes Division at (219) 881-1210.
