A 37-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded early Saturday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

She was standing on a sidewalk in the 300 block of North Cicero about 3:30 a.m. when someone opened fire from a red car, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was hit in the chest and abdomen and taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
