Man wanted for attempted murder for Gary shooting

A northwest Indiana man is wanted on attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting someone six times last week in Gary.

Dion Clayton, 22, is accused of shooting another male in the 1400 block of East 51st Avenue in Gary on Jan. 15, according to a statement from Gary police. The victim was struck six times, but is expected to recover.

Clayton, who lives in Gary, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and battery with a deadly weapon, police said. He was not in custody as of Friday morning.
