A 45-year-old man was stabbed and seriously wounded early Monday in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

He was with a group of people drinking at a home in the 5900 block of South Indiana and he left after getting into a fight with the homeowner, according to Chicago Police.

The man then returned about 2:40 a.m. and jumped on the homeowner, who pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the torso, police said.

The 45-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. He was considered the offender in the incident and no criminal charges were expected to be filed.
