Authorities are searching for a man who robbed two banks Tuesday afternoon in the Edgewater and University Village neighborhoods.

At 4:38 p.m., the man walked into the MB Financial Bank branch at 5918 N. Broadway and handed the teller a note demanding money, according to the FBI and Chicago Police. He then ran away northbound on Broadway with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber did not show or imply a weapon and no one was injured in the robbery, police said.

At 5:51 p.m. that same day, the same man is suspected of robbing a Chase Bank branch at 1130 W. Taylor St., the FBI said. Police did not immediately provide details on the Chase robbery.

He is described as a black man, between 25 and 35 years old, standing between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet, with brown eyes and a medium build, the FBI said. He was wearing a black hat, a gray scarf, a gray jacket, black pants and tan boots.
