A 17-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded Monday evening in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The teenager was shot in the chest, back and left leg about 7:50 p.m. in the 8900 block of South Throop, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A police source said the teenager is a documented gang member.
