Pau Gasol outscored Miami’s entire starting lineup in the first quarter as he scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to carry Chicago to a 23-18 lead over the Heat after one.
He’s the first player this season to record a double-double in the first quarter, according to ESPN.
The rest of the Bulls’ starters combined for just four points. More than seven minutes of game time had passed before any Bull other than Gasol scored.
Miami’s group of starters, which included former Chicago star Luol Deng, scored just 12 first-quarter points.
