Report: Jimmy Butler named to All-Star team

Bulls star Jimmy Butler was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team by the coaches on Thursday, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore.

Butler is reportedly the only Bulls player to make the squad.

Despite leading all shooting guards with a real plus/minus of 4.3 and averaging a career-high 22.3 points, Butler was left out of the East’s starting lineup, which was voted upon by the fans.

Instead, he’ll make his second-consecutive appearance as a reserve.

Butler is joined on the team by starters Kyle Lowry, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, and by reserves Paul Millsap, Chris Bosh, John Wall, Isaiah Thomas, Andre Drummond and DeMar DeRozan.

Butler is averaging career-high player efficiency rating of 21.5 and leads the league with more than 38 minutes per game.

Rosters for the game, which will take place Feb. 13 in Toronto, will be officially revealed tonight at 6 p.m. on TNT.
