Second-year Bulls big man Nikola Mirotic is expected to miss at least three weeks after having an appendectomy on Wednesday.
Mirotic tweeted out this photo Thursday afternoon:
Thanks for all your strong support and reaching out with positivity, prayers and love. Surgery went well yesterday! pic.twitter.com/SdHQ8hU9F5— Nikola Mirotic (@threekola) January 28, 2016
Hope I will have fast recovery and be ready for next challenges. Miss my team and feel bad that I can't be there tonight! Go Bulls!— Nikola Mirotic (@threekola) January 28, 2016
Mirotic is averaging 11 points, six rebounds and 24 minutes this season. He’s the second Bulls big man to go down this month.
Joakim Noah had surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder last week and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Mirotic was recently selected to play for the World Team in the Rising Stars Challenge during NBA All-Star weekend next month, but will miss the festivities while he recovers.
