Bond has been set for two men charged with crashing a stolen van into a storefront Saturday morning and burglarizing the store in the Northwest Side Portage Park neighborhood.

Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a store in the 5400 block of West Belmont just after 6 a.m. and arrested Daniel Gonzalez and Adrian Duran, both 23, according to police. A white van had crashed through a large window of the store.

Duran, of the 5900 block of West Roscoe, was charged with one count each of burglary, possessing a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, police said. Bond was set at $250,000, and he is next scheduled to appear in court Friday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Gonzalez, of the 3200 block of North Austin, was charged with burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle, police said. He was ordered held without bond and is next scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
