Chicago Police are warning of residential burglaries in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.

At least three burglaries have been reported since Jan. 1 where robbers pry open doors or enter unlocked windows, according to a statement from police.

The burglaries happened at:

  • 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 1 in the 3700 block of North Lakewood Avenue;
  • 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 2 in the 3700 block of North Lakewood Avenue;
  • and between 6:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 in the 3700 block of North Wayne Avenue.

In the Jan. 1 burglary, three robbers were seen fleeing the scene on North Lakewood Avenue, police said. One of the robbers was described as a black male with short black hair, between 22 to 28 years of age, standing about 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds.

In the Jan. 2 burglary, the robbers are described as black males, wearing masks, dark clothing and carrying a tire iron as a pry tool, police said.
