Monday night, millions of people tuned in to the premiere of ABC’s “The Bachelor.” Never one to miss out on a marketing opportunity, one Minor League baseball team tried to jump on the bandwagon.

The Tennessee Smokies, the Cubs Double-A affiliate, invited this season’s star, Ben Higgins, to a game.

Higgins, who is from Indiana, is an admitted Cubs fan, so it’s not completely random. However, the popularity of “The Bachelor” makes it seem unlikely that they would film in Kodak, Tennessee instead of just going to a Cubs game.

At one point, during a montage at the end of the show, Higgins is seen wearing a Cubs hat and appears to be inside Wrigley Field.

But who knows, if Higgins and the mystery winner end up sticking it out, maybe they will make a trip or two to a Smokies game. After all, who wouldn’t want to watch Albert Almora and Billy McKinney patrol the outfield?
