Police are warning residents of a string of armed robberies over the past two weeks in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.

The robberies occurred:

  • at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 22 in the 1400 block of West Roosevelt Road;
  • 10 p.m. Dec. 25 in the 1300 block of West Grenshaw Street; and
  • noon Dec. 25 in the 1500 block of West Fillmore Street.

In each incident, two to three suspects approached the victims and robbed them while displaying a gun, police said.

The suspects are described as two to three black men 17-23, weighing 145-165 pounds, police said.
