Police are asking for the public’s help locating a blue SUV that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash late last month in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

At 6:54 p.m. Dec. 28, 55-year-old Linnes Walker was hit by the vehicle at 7617 S. Racine Ave., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Walker, of the 7500 block of South May, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died two days later at 1:55 p.m. on Dec. 30, according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries from being struck by a vehicle and his death was ruled an accident.

Police released a surveillance photo of the vehicle late Wednesday. The vehicle is described as a blue, full-sized SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban or a GMC Yukon. It was last seen traveling eastbound on 76th Street from Racine Avenue, according to the statement.

Anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle is asked to call the Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521.
