A person was shot in the West Garfield Park neighborhood early Friday.

The male — whose exact age was not immediately known — was shot in the arm and leg near the intersection of Madison and Kilbourn about 2:30 a.m., according to preliminary information from police.

He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
