Two shot in Austin

Two men were shot early Saturday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting occurred at Congress and Central at 2:10 a.m. A 23-year-old man told police he was driving in the area when he heard shots and felt pain. A 28-year-old man said he was walking on Congress when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks and took himself to Hines VA Hospital where his condition was stabilized. The 28-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the lower right thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.
