Two teenage boys were robbed Wednesday night in northwest suburban Elgin.

At 6:13 p.m., a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were in the area of Cornerstone Park, in the 1500 block of Mulberry Lane, when three males approached them and demanded the boys’ cell phones and money, according to a statement from the Elgin Police Department.

The suspects then hit the boys with an unknown object and “proceeded to take a cell phone,” and money before running away. The two boys were not injured during the robbery, police said.

The suspects are described as three black men between 18 to 20 years old, standing 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and thin builds. Two of the suspects wore hats, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Elgin Police Department’s Major Investigations Division at (847) 289-2600.
