A 23-year-old man was shot to death Monday afternoon in west suburban Maywood.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 3:05 p.m. at 3rd Avenue and Van Buren Street found Cortez Lloyd on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, according to Maywood police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lloyd was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he died at 3:38 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 100 block of South 17th Avenue in Maywood.

Maywood police ask anyone with information on the shooting to call investigators at (708) 450-4471.
