A 17-year-old boy was shot Monday night in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 11:23 p.m., the teenager was walking in the 2600 block of South California when someone in a red vehicle nearby fired shots, striking him in the right arm, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the teenager is a documented gang member.
