A man has been charged with violating an order of protection after he was stabbed by a woman Sunday afternoon near Washington Park on the South Side.

Deonte Jackson, 23, was charged with one felony count of violating an order of protection and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery with physical contact, according to Chicago Police.

About 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jackson and a 23-year-old woman got into a domestic argument at 51st Street and Washington Park Court, police said.

She suffered bruises to her face, and then stabbed Jackson in the abdomen and upper neck with a knife to defend herself, police said.

The woman declined medical treatment and Jackson was taken to Provident Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Jackson, of the 6600 block of South Justine, was ordered held on a $10,000 bond Monday, according to police and the Cook County sheriff’s office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 25.

The woman was not charged.
