WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney hits Chicago on Oct. 19 to headline a fundraiser for fellow Republican Sen. Mark Kirk, who’s battling Democrat Tammy Duckworth to keep his Illinois Senate seat.

Romney’s reception will be at the Chicago Club, 81 E. Van Buren.

The tab runs from $250 per individual to $2,700 to be a top sponsor, according to an invitation obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Romney will boost Kirk the day after comic David Letterman headlines a fundraiser for Duckworth at Carnivale, 702 W. Fulton St. The contribution level, according to the invitation, ranges from $100 per person to $5,000 for the VIP reception.
