Chicago Police are searching for man who tried to lure a 15-year-old girl to his car Saturday afternoon in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The girl was walking alone at 4:10 p.m. in the 6100 block of West Berwyn when a white car driving west pulled up and the driver rolled down the passenger side window, according to a community alert from police.

Police said the suspect then asked, “Do you need a ride?”

The girl said “no,” and walked away east on Berwyn before the suspect drove away west. She made it home safely and told her father, who then called authorities, police said.

The suspect was described as a 50-year-old heavyset white man, with balding brown hair and an unshaven face, police said. He wore prescription glasses and a green shirt. His vehicle was described as a newer four-door white car that was clean and had no damage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
